Because a revision rhinoplasty usually involves specific reconstructive techniques and can be highly complex, it is important to note that your recovery period may differ from your primary nose surgery.
Immediately following your revision rhinoplasty, Dr. Morin will apply a splint to cover the nose and may use soft packing, depending on the work that was done. Packing is typically removed within 24 hours and the split will be removed around day 7 post-procedure.

To minimize swelling, cold packs can be applied to the nose for a short period of time: however it is important to use a lightweight and malleable cold pack so that pressure on the nose is avoided. It is normal for a patient to report feeling congested or stuffy for a day or two.
Generally, patients can return to work and their normal schedules within one to two weeks of a surgery. Prior to your revision rhinoplasty, Dr. Morin will discuss your expected downtime and specific post-procedure instructions based on the details of your case.

After about a month, you should be significantly recovered, with no obvious evidence of your nose surgery. However, it will take up to a year to see final results. If tip work was considerable, it may take longer than a year for the nose to settle into its final form.
During the initial stages of recovery, it is important to communicate with Dr. Morin if you notice any unusual side effects, such as bleeding, prolonged numbness or abnormal breathing.
