Septoplasty – The Procedure

A Septoplasty is a type of surgical procedure that is designed to straighten the partition between the two nasal cavities, also known as the nasal septum. The septum is the center of the nose. Septums can sometimes deviate from the center and move into one of the nasal cavities potentially impeding airflow. Septoplasty surgery can be performed primarily for airflow and functional reasons, but can also be performed for cosmetic reasons. Often times, a Septoplasty will be performed along with a rhinoplasty for cosmetic changes of the overall nasal framework.
