About Dr. Robert J. Morin, M.D.

Robert J. Morin, M.D. is a board-certified plastic surgeon and highly trained craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgeon based in New Jersey. With expertise in both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, Dr. Morin specializes in facial cosmetic surgery, including primary and revision rhinoplasty, nasal reconstruction, facial feminization surgery, ear reconstruction, and cranial vault remodeling for craniosynostosis.

Dr. Morin’s extensive training includes craniofacial surgery, facial aesthetic surgery, and pediatric plastic surgery, allowing him to perform a wide range of complex surgical procedures on both adults and children. His meticulous approach and deep understanding of facial anatomy enable him to deliver natural-looking results while preserving or enhancing each patient’s unique features.

Recognized as one of the top plastic surgeons in New Jersey and New York, Dr. Morin has been honored by New York Magazine, included in Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors list, and named by Newsweek Magazine as one of America’s Best Plastic Surgeons in Rhinoplasty.

Education & Training

Dr. Morin earned his medical degree from New York Medical College, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and served as Vice President of the school’s chapter of the American Medical Association. He completed a highly competitive, combined general and plastic surgery residency at Rutgers University, where he served as Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery.

To further specialize, Dr. Morin completed a prestigious Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, Florida, training under world-renowned craniofacial surgeon Dr. S. Anthony Wolfe.

Clinical Expertise

As a trusted New Jersey plastic surgeon, Dr. Morin brings a unique blend of academic knowledge, clinical precision, and artistic vision to every procedure. He is particularly known for his skill in:

  • Rhinoplasty (primary and revision)
  • Nasal reconstruction
  • Facial feminization surgery
  • Ear reconstruction (microtia repair)
  • Pediatric craniofacial surgery
  • Cranial vault remodeling for craniosynostosis

Dr. Morin believes that reconstructive surgery should always achieve the highest aesthetic result, whether he’s repairing a cleft lip or refining the structure of the nose. His philosophy centers on enhancing facial harmony by removing distractions rather than altering natural beauty.

Humanitarian Work & Education

Deeply committed to global surgical outreach, Dr. Morin serves as the President and Chief Medical Officer of Developing Faces, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing life-changing craniofacial and pediatric surgical care to children in developing countries. Through this work, he has led and participated in multiple international missions, performing complex reconstructive procedures for patients who otherwise would not have access to specialized care.

Dr. Morin has operated in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Colombia, the Philippines, and Mauritius, and was one of the first surgeons on the ground in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. His efforts were featured in the ABC Nightline special “ER: Haiti,” and he has received numerous Awards of Distinction in recognition of his humanitarian contributions.

In addition to his surgical mission work, Dr. Morin is a dedicated educator. As an active member of the Rhinoplasty Society, he regularly presents at national and international conferences and teaches advanced techniques in cosmetic rhinoplasty and facial gender-affirming surgery to residents and fellow plastic surgeons.

Board-Certified By The American Board Of Plastic Surgery

The Rhinoplasty Society,Inc - Robert Morin, M.D.

As the American Board of Medical Specialties logo states, “Certification Matters.” Dr. Robert Morin is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only board that ensures plastic surgeons have met all strict requirements necessary to call themselves board-certified plastic surgeons in the United States. Dr. Morin believes it’s extremely important to make sure that your surgeon is certified by the appropriate board for their specific field. It’s therefore wise to not only ask if your surgeon is board-certified but also to ask by what board.

The requirements Dr. Morin had to fulfill in order to become board-certified included a medical degree, extensive general surgery training, rigorous plastic surgery training and the successful completion of all medical licensing exams. In addition, Dr. Morin completed a 9-hour computer examination, successfully performed a required number of peer-reviewed surgical cases and finally, passed an oral board examination. Dr. Morin also completed an accredited fellowship in craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery. This additional training was not required for board-certification, however, it significantly increased Dr. Morin’s knowledge base and surgical experience.

Membership in field-specific societies is important as well. In plastic surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons is the largest and most influential society.
